Unable to get Simple IRA Catch-up Contribution= $5,250. Lacerte maximum seems to be limited to standard plus 50+ only. $21,750 vs $22,850.

Try checking the check box in the W-2 input under Box 12:

"Elect to apply the increased elective deferral 408(p) SIMPLE plan limits"

No W-2. Only SE Income is 1065 K-1.

Manually calculate the total deferral and match, and enter in the override box.

Remove all other input in the SIMPLE IRA section so Lacerte doesn't try to calculate it.

The worksheet won't generate, but it is not required.

In addition to the catch up amount, there is an additional bonus option of up to $5,000  in addition to the "employer match" for those who are self-employed and/or have under 25 employees (Secure 2.0).

Lacerte does not do a good job of capturing all the Simple IRA deductions.

Also, they show employees who make Simple IRA catchup contributions via wages as possibly having overcontributed and should be included in income.  They should have a spot where you indicate they made a catchup contribution.

See Jim60's post above for W-2 employees

The more I know the more I don’t know.

That is for a SE individual. I did the manual calculation and entered it already. My input was so Lacerte could update this section in the future.

And my diagnostic was in response to a W2 employee that had contributed the catchup amount. Thank you.
