Taxpayer must itemize for MFS

Lacerte 2020 is taking the standard deduction on a return that I marked as MFS must itemize. I think the software needs an update. I can't get it to take itemized deductions.

Where are you entering the MUST ITEMIZE?

Screen 1, just check the box below Filing Status

Screen 25, Enter 1 in the first entry field. (Notice this is an Override [O])

It is working fine for me.

I have Screen 1 checked Lives with spouse and must itemize. I have Screen 25 checked 1=must itemize. I am still getting the standard deduction.

I am glad it is working for you, but I just updated today, and still isn't working.

Remove the entry in Screen 25 and see what happens. Generally entering an override is not a good thing.

What about the spouse's filing status?

I figured it out... I inadvertently checked the box to deduct charitable contributions if taking the standard deduction. Apparently, this box overrides. Thank you for your help.
