Question

Taxpayer is Full year resident spouse is not. Ohio state issues

Lacerte only has one option in the client screen. Taxpayer full year (yes or no) I've tried both.  Ohio IT-NRC is not auto-filling entries OR allowing overrides on Part B for non business income.  Taxpayer in Florida, Spouse in Ohio for 10 months of the year. Both retired, only non business income.

1) I can't get the dates on the IT-NRC to reflect the facts. Override on 50 doesn't work. Input on Screen 55 does not provide dates to the Form IT-NRC .

2) The allocation in Part B is blank, retired taxpayers have no other income to allocate.

Any help would be appreciated.

I don't do OH returns, but I would say no to full year. Code like any multi state and make the Florida income US and only the income derived in OH as OH. Overrides are seldom a good choice.

You do need to indicate information in Screen 55. That is where the part time resident comes in.
