Roof qualifying for solar credit?

I'm inclined to not research this question because of the day.  I put in bold the issue.  I don't think that part of the roof qualifies for the solar credit.

I installed a roof solar photovoltaic system in October 2023. The total cost of the system was $14,581.65. I also had to reroof my house because the roof was old and the panels have a warranty of 25 years. So, it would not make sense to install a solar system on a roof that would require dismounting to reroof a house. In the past I've anecdotally heard that the certain portion of the roof under the solar system can also be deducted as part of the solar system

Give them an A for effort, but they still don't get extra credit for that one.
