NYS/NYC Earned Income Credit

Lacerte is calculating a NY Earned Income Credit for NYS & NYC retirees that have low income and no wages or S/E income.  I believe this is incorrect.  Or did I miss something

I just had one of these too. Searched all over the state's website for a rule change, couldn't find anything. I agree, this is incorrect.

I overrode the credit for now but we are going to have to really look at the returns to make sure one doesn't slip through. If for some reason they are entitled to it NYS will recalculate the return. I'd rather they get an unexpected refund than a balance due notice.
