Massachusetts IRA QCD limit

When putting in a QCD in screen 13.1, the federal limit for 2025 is $108,000.  However, Lacerte is limiting this to $100,000 on Line 6 in the Schedule X Line 2 worksheet for Massachusetts.  Massachusetts conforms to IRC as of 1/1/24 (for most things) and in 2024, it was a $105,000 limit.  However, Massachusetts also notes that most IRA limits are followed to current IRC rules (confusing, eh?).   Either way, Lacerte shouldn't be limiting it to $100k, as my client contributed $108k.  It should either be $105k or $108k, depending on how you interpret Mass conformity.  For now, I'm going to just enter the $8k as an additional charitable deduction, which has the same effect, but curious if others have seen this and have another workaround.  (Or if I'm wildly off and MA is $100k....)

Hi @JimS_1
Please make sure you are using the most updated version of Lacerte. Here is a knowledge base you can review: How to challenge a calculation in Lacerte It may or may not assist in this situation. You can reconnect with Lacert Support  and give them a file as they will better assist you with your specific situation.

Hi Katie

I called support yesterday (5:08PM), spoke with a representative for 34 minutes, explained issue, shared screen and updated my software (issue remained).  She put me on hold and then hung up on me.  She did not call me back (she did take my number).  I don't know if she escalated the issue, but at this time of year I can't waste another 30+ minutes with support to correct this issue.  If you can look up the case, I would appreciate if you can confirm she escalated.  Case Number: 15153848235.
