Are the "Notes" (form 47) sent with the return to the IRS?

If you mark it 'worksheet' -  No (supposedly)

If you mark it 'statement' - Yes (supposedly)  - but no one at the IRS reads them anyway.

I haven't checked the actual efile 'data' in years to see what's included.
