Intuit Link Invitations to Spouse

My firm has a few dozen joint clients for whom the person listed second (as "spouse") on the tax return is the primary point of contact and handles all tax matters.  Inviting clients from Lacerte to Intuit Link automatically sends the invitation to the person listed as primary ("taxpayer") on the joint return, and I need the invitation to go to the spouse.

Last year, when we first started using Link, I was able to just go into their link profile, edit the name and email, and resend the invitation.  Lacerte and Link still communicated just fine.

This year, I am unable to do the same.  Temporarily editing the email in Lacerte before sending the invitation creates an error on Link about the email being edited outside of Link.  But then duplicating the process from last year (as stated above) ends up deleting all the to-do items and reinviting the client creates an error on the Lacerte side, where it doesn't even show that an invitation was sent.

Is there a way to send a joint return's link invitation to the spouse (rather than taxpayer) via Lacerte?  If not, what is the best way to do this on a returning client (i.e. a spouse of joint client, who previously used link)?

Hi @MartyGDC thanks for posting in the Community about sending the person listed second (as "spouse") on the tax return the invite to Intit Link. If the steps in this support article are not working, then we would recommend reaching out to Lacerte Support
