Another option: https://efiletaxformscd.efile1.com This is an online solution that developed out of the old Office Depot 1099 kit I used to buy with a CD and paper forms. It's evolved into an online filing service. Recipient copies can be printed for you to mail or they will mail the recipient copy for you. Or deliver via email to the recipient.

I haven't looked into this yet but saved it to forward to the clients who will be calling today and tomorrow in a panic to ask if I have a 1099 form they can have.

Unfortunately the IRS email showed up in my inbox right after I paid to efile my last 1099.
