i lost my pear to pear with last update yesterday

Are you using an Apple? I don't think it likes Pears!

Seriously, If you look at your network, can you still see all the other drives? Possibly you just need to use Settings > Options > System File Path and Data File Path corrections. https://proconnect.intuit.com/community/help-articles/help/set-up-or-change-the-data-path-in-lacerte/00/5642

FYI -  Stop using the in program Update. Exit the program. Press the Windows key and type "2019 Lacerte Web Setup" and run that (substitute 2019 for the year you want). This will make for a cleaner update.

Possibly you were hit with a windows update at the same time and we can blame Bill Gates, even though he is a pretty nice guy these days.
