I can't get Lacerte 2024 to update to the current version

I know that Lacerte has the option now for updates in the background.  I am not running the current version due to Efiles being rejected.  I have checked for updates, but it just gives me a pop-up box that says, "checking for updates, please wait".  A box is not popping up to say they are ready to install.  I don't know what else to check.  Please help.

    Terminate the Lacerte program. Download the Lacerte Tools Hub and then select Install > Websetup /force. Using Lacerte Tool Hub to fix common problems and errors

    This will redownload the 2024 program and correct any install issues.

    If you are running on a network setup as well make sure that Shared file path is set to the correct file path as well for your environment. That way your application will see updates if someone else installs them.

    We have found that the new background update is awful.  We have had to reinstall the program from the web multiple times so far.  I would like to turn this feature off!  Horrible!!!!

    We disabled the auto update when we rolled out the program to our staff.  After a program update, the auto update feature was automatically turned back on.  Now I have to go back around and disable it again and continuously verify that it stays off after each program update.   Such a headache!
