Question

I am a Georgia CPA working on an Alabama return. The wash sales on the federal schedule D are shown as negative subsequent improvements on the Alabama Sch D and I am forced to file on paper. Is there a fix for this

I wonder if you can enter the basis and proceeds with the wash recognized as Box whatever totals and pdf attach the 1099B with all the details for each sale. Do the instructions require a paper return? If so, I would have had dozens this year if I had Alabama returns - it was the year of the wash sale.

Reach out to Alabama Society of CPAs and see if they can post a question to their members or offer a real answer for you.

Even though it's a critical diagnostic, you can bypass it in the efile process and it'll still go through.

I agree, it's annoying, but that is how you make it work.
