Amending a previously amended return?

Do what you did the first time, using amendment #1 as the 'originally filed' return.  

Column A of the 1040X is the "Original amount reported or as previously adjusted"

    Not sure about Lacerte but in Proseries to efile a second amended return you need to check a box on the Electronic Filing Information Worksheet to efile another amended federal return
