Question

How to complete a Form 8936 if you do not have a VIN for an e-bike? I have a serial number but Lacerte won't send the return for processing without a VIN.

If you are talking about The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 credit for ebikes (not electric motorcycles) that was not passed into law yet

    @Terry53029 The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 did get passed into law.

    Do you mean the credit for ebikes is not effective in 2021? (I have no idea since I'm on a need to know for this one.)

      @sjrcpa yes it was passed, but last I heard ebikes were taken out of the bill. See link.
