how do you open the prep file?

You do the following and the program will open that file.

As you adjust options in the program, such as Preparer information, that file is edited and saved.

Answers are easy. Questions are hard!

The actual Preparer file is not available to changed directly, not even with the ODBC connection which made the binary/client tax detail files visible & usable from TY2018 forward.
