How do you enter for a 1040 return a long-term capital loss carryover from 2023 to 2024?

    I use ProSeries not Lacerte........

    Did you prepare the 2023 return ?   If yes, wouldn't the carryover come forward when the client was transferred to 2024 ?

    If you didn't prepare the 2023 return..... does Lacerte have a Carryover Worksheet  (ProSeries does) where you can enter the information ?

    Screen 17, over on the left mid-screen, there's a "carryovers/misc info" section/link.

    FYI for the future, you can go to the forms view>Schedule D>right-click on the carryover box (line 6 or 14)>select "Jump to Input" and most of the time that will show you where the inputs go.
