Question

How do you enter a state NOL carryover different from the federal. Lacerte keeps putting it in both federal and NY.

I did find an adjustment 

NOL deduction limitation

New York AdditionsScreen 51; Code 65

This entry will flow to Form IT-225, Schedule A, Part 1 as an addition. An entry here will adjust any automatically calculated amount.

Use Ctrl + F to start a search and search for NOL. That will show several entry points that might help. I don't do NY returns.
