How do I make alimony taxable on the Calif return but not the federal?
I'm on hold with the Lacerte rep and she insists there should be a source box on Screen 14.1 to allow me to indicate that it's only taxable on the Calif return but I only have three input boxes: alimony received, date of agreement & non-taxable pre-2019 agreement.
I've checked other non-California clients and some have input for state and source but some don't.
