How do I get past the request to Host screen when logging in?

I enter my information to sign on to Lacerte Tax. A page pops up asking if I wish to host. It just sits there. I cannot get past it to enter the Lacerte Tax program. HELP!!

Yeah Lacerte 2024 has become a buggy, sluggish, popup laden mess this year. Those hosting/marketing popups are the worst as often they don't even load fully to where you can close them much less an option to check a "not interested, leave me alone, I have work to get done" box.

If you can see a button labeled Learn More you can try clicking it, then a larger window will open with a "cancel" button down towards the bottom. Otherwise you may have to risk closing the program out "dirty" from the task manager...do that at your own risk with good backups in place.

Seems the intuit marketing folks versus financial software pros are in charge of Lacerte 2024 programming this year. 2024 loads and runs like a dog due to all the popup nonsense getting in the way not helping. It sure would be nice if they'd knock it off and focus on the "efficiency" they like to hype up which is a word that doesn't belong in the same sentence with Lacerte this year. If we can get through this tax season we are going to take another look at Drake's lacerte conversion and if they are doing better....I suspect that after two decades we'll be ditching Lacerte. It's become an office joke this year.

But WAIT - THERE ARE MORE. These pop ups do little to build customer loyalty.

I have found that IF YOU CAN SEE the pop up. Click in the middle of that screen then HOLD the CTRL key and roll your mouse to resize it so that you can at least see what crap they are offering. I have not been able to find the wonderful DON'T SHOW THIS AGAIN button, but at least I can click the least offensive of the choices. Sometimes I am even lucky enough to find the little x to close the screen.

IF YOU CAN NOT SEE the pop up. Hold ALT and press the TAB to spread out the open windows, find the offender and x it out existence.

I hope @1569 is taking notes. WE ARE NOT HAPPY CAMPERS

@1569 This is the popup we are talking about. It is on the opening screen, lower left corner. It won't close. I can't resize the box. I can't resize the text within it to any good result. Nothing on the screen works -- you get a chime when anything is clicked. Very frustrating -- the program is useless to me today.

I think I had the same thing recently. I clicked on yes for hosting, then was able to click on "leave me alone".

And I agree... this CONSTANT ramming down our throats for 'Hosting, Link, Tax Adviser, etc, etc is a pain, and is also irritating as he((. So are the damned constant surveys. It's worse than going to a used car lot.
