Question

How do I get lacerte to generate California Form 3805E in year 2022 for individual for a prior year installment sale? The IRS for generates fine.

I think you need entries in the "State, if different" section of "Prior Year Installment Sale" on 17.1.  I threw some dummy numbers in there and when I finally had all these inputs, 3805E went bold. Sometimes that "if different" field title is wrong.  Sometimes the state wants its own entry.

Sorry, correction, the form unbolded again after I checked again.  It was bold when there truly was a different gross profit ratio for CA.
