How do I Credit next year's estimated tax to wife (surviving spouse)

Husband & wife file joint return.  Husband dies in 2025.  How does the estimated tax payment get credited to the wife’s sosc sec number in 2026?

From a 2025 joint return I assume? Indicate it should be applied to 2026 estimated tax and expect issues when the 2026 return is filed. Or, make wife the Taxpayer and deceased husband the Spouse on the 2025 return. But this could cause issues with the 2025 estimated tax payments.

The more I know the more I don’t know.
