Question

Form 5227 requires 8879-TE for signature to authorize efiling. 2022 software is only providing 8879-F, which is form Form 1041, not 5227. When will 8879-TE be issued?

Both Form 8879-F and Form 8879-TE appeared when I entered the information for the Forms 5227 for several CRATs. Can't figure out why the 8879-F is being produced. Actually, I can't figure out why either of them were created, or how to suppress them. I am the trustee and tax preparer, so the returns are "self-prepared" and it seems silly to get MY signature to authorize ME to efile.

I must be missing something. Obviously, I don't do this for a living!
