Hey all,

 Screen 38.2, EIC and other credits, has a Registered CTEC checkbox, what is it for and when does it need to be checked? Thank you, Jenn

If you don't know what it is I'm guessing you aren't one so don't check it.

It is a CA Registered Tax Preparer.

The more I know the more I don’t know.

    This has to do with the completion of the CA FTB 3596 part I, 1c. 

    My guess is that it has to do with licensing requirements, especially if it found that you file fraudulent EIC claims.
