Question

Filing a FED only foundation return (990-PF) - Lacerte wants to file a CA return for a non-CA foundation. How do I suppress the CA return

The Foundation is a non-CA entity but Lacerte keeps reverting to CA mailing address of President creating critical diagnostic issues.  I need a FED only return.

From the Client Information screen, in the Returns section at the very top left, delete California.

Note also that California may disagree with your conclusion regarding the need for a CA return.
