Estimated Payments Wizard

I have this error message when trying to remit Q4 payments on behalf of taxpayers via the estimated payments wizard:  "The IRS and states have temporarily stopped accepting transmissions of TY20 Individual e-file filings".

The payments I am trying to file are for Q4 2021, not TY20.  Will I be able to use Lacerte to remit these payments?  I ran updates to make sure I'm on the current version of the software.

No, except maybe for CA.

 

The federal estimates for 2021 had to be set up with the 2020 tax return filing to be paid electronocally. efiling of individual returns is closed until January 24.

They can pay online at IRS Direct Pay or mail a check.

The more I know the more I don’t know.
