eSignature for Business Returns - the disclaimer?

Hi All

I thought I was done with the message boards for a while after obtaining the CA forms yesterday (I'm fine with level and badges...).

Our firm started using the eSignature feature in Lacerte, but I'm curious why there is a disclaimer on the business returns that states "While we allow the ability to add eSignature fields to Business Module forms, please be aware of the IRS guidelines and use at your discretion"  It them refers to Publication 4163 (90 pages).     What am I missing?  Can you use this for businesses without me having to go down the rabbit hole and find the exact language to give me the comfort.  I called Lacerte and was told "I never heard of that disclaimer"    What a crazy start (or in the middle!) to what is turning into a tax season that will probably rank up with the season everything got extended to 11/15!!!

The disclaimer has been there since Covid times. Last time I read the Lacerte EULA, it said I couldn't use it to build nuclear or biological weapons. Who's gonna argue with the compliance department!

IMHO KBA authentication is accepted by the IRS for all the returns I prepare.
