efile checking account numbers

why don't routing and checking account numbers show on face of return

Unless the return has a refund and you have coded for the refund to be processed by direct deposit, these details are not relevant and would not print on the return.  This has always been the case.

    Direct debit routing/acct numbers won't appear on the actual return since that's not an option if you file by paper.

    Only direct deposit routing/acct numbers will appear on the actual tax return.
