We are trying to e-file Forms 8868 in Lacerte 2025 and encounter an ATEExceptionMessage: Tag exception message. We have taken the suggested "steps to resolve" given in the error message, however, the matter is not resolved. Has anyone successfully e-filed a 2025 Form 8868?

No, not yet.

It could be that the form is not fully functional or the IRS isn't accepting them yet.

Hi @CarlaH Thanks for posting in the Community about ATEExceptionMessage: Tag exception message in the 990 tax module. We checked on this and did see some reports with a similar error, however they have been resolved, we would recommend contacting Lacerte Support if you are still experiencing the error when trying to e-file.

I called Lacerte Support today. They anticipate having an update available on February 12th that will resolve this issue.
