Different filing status for CA

Per IRS, there's no income limit for a qualifying child when claiming HOH status.  However, CA says qualifying child's income must be less than $4,300.  Is it possible to file as HOH for federal and Single for CA?  If so, can it be done in a single Lacerte file?  Any insight appreciated.  Thanks!

Doesn't the $4,300 apply only to a qualifying relative, not a qualifying child?

You're right; my mistake.  I meant to say qualifying relative.  Regardless, that income limitation exists for CA, but not fed.  So is it possible to file HOH for federal and Single for CA?

Qualifying relative has to be a dependent for federal.  Income must be less than $4,300 to be claimed, right?
