Dependents issue; after entering the 3rd dependent; 4,5,6,7 show deceased dates on them...

we have clients with more than 3 dependents, anything after 3 dependents, the 4,5,6,7th dependents show up with deceased dates on them. We cannot provide our clients with this type of tax return. Does anyone have an answer? We have contacted Lacerte and have spoken to numerous representatives but to no avail. Apparently, we have been advised that it is a coding issue, and their coders are not available to speak any of us. Its been over seven (7) and still no resolution. This is a very expensive software to be having an unresolved issue.

Did you try downloading the update today? I just set up a client with 6 dependents and nothing weird shows up like date of death (yikes...that would be awful). Try updating your program and see if it fixes the problem.

Sounds like a database issue. CLPACK utility may be able to fix you up, look in Lacerte Tool Hub.

Also, sometimes you can do things like Ctrl+A(dd) a throw-away record, type in garbage 'Esc' out to the Client List (forces Lacerte to 'save' that client), go back in to page2/Dependents, and Ctrl+D(elete) the throw-away. That has fixed up a number of oddities for me at times.
