Continuing to get client in use error message when attempting to lock or unlock client

Recently I am getting continuing client in use error message when attempting to lock or unclock a client file in 24 Lacerte - this is in all modules and program is installed on my desktop computer. Not a server. I've reinstalled and rebooted the program but the issue remains. This is when using the F4 key.

    Right-click the client listing from the main screen (the one with a line for every client). Pick "Remove REP lock." You can now unlock that client.

    Dunno why it's doing it now, but I have one that keeps getting stuck that way.
