Can I send batch requests for 2 signatures on an engagement letter, as for spouses?

According to this video, at about 1m35s, no, for MFJ clients, only the primary person will get the signature request.

I would talk to your insurance carrier about this.  I have CAMICO, and am in California (community property state), and they told me that "one spouse has the power to bind another" (I don't think that's a community property distinction, but IDK, IANAL) so I only *need* one spouse's signature per their recommendation.

Granted, I have a few *special* clients, where you just have that "gut feel" about, and so for them, I make sure both spouses sign to reduce/avoid any problems later.

See discussion of this from December 2023.

If you consider the engagement letter as a contract, only one signature is needed.  If you consider it as an ethical obligation, remember that in most jurisdictions wives are no longer considered chattels.
