I have a clint with a IP PIN.  I entered it on screen 1 under client information.  The IP PIN number is a 6 digit number.  Is the ERO able to enter the PIN for the taxpayer on the 8879?  That PIN is only 5 digits so I dont think they are related but I am unsure.  I have had this return be rejected due to the IP PIN four times until the taxpayer got the correct IP PIN.  Is there a max amount of times you can subit and have it rejected before they require you to mail the tax return in?

Yes you can enter the PIN.

If there is a maximum number of times a return can be submitted after being rejected I am not aware of it.

The more I know the more I don’t know.
