Can Client requests the federal refund apply to the state tax owed?

Client asked me if it is possible her federal refund applying to the state tax owed.  I looked lacerte under the general menu line 3 Misc. info/Direct Deposit and cannot find it.  Is there something we can do that in Lacerte software? 

Please advise.

CANNOT be done.

However, the feds can TAKE your state refund if you owe the feds.

      Hurry up and file the federal.  When the client gets that refund, they can pay the state.

        Yes, I agreed with you. 

        When the client receives a refund, and pay the state tax due before or on May 17th.
