It also re-enables itself when we do a new install.

I had the same problem and called Lacerte for technical assistance. The rep had me update my Lacerte Tool Hub and run the Lacerte Tool Hub/Install/Websetup /force for 2024 and then re-boot. That worked for me.

I had the same issue too and after the first agent ran web setup/force in the Toolhub which didn't work, I had to get another agent tell me to right click on the 2024 Lacerte icon and run as administrator, which worked the first time, but it appeared you had to do this every time you entered the program. Upon second entry the next day, I tried this and got error messages. I went back to the accessing it regularly without the admin and suddenly the Lacerte Updates was no longer greyed out, but the Background Updates was still greyed out, so it is not automatically updating but at least it gives me the option to manually update. Now when I click on Lacerte Updates it checks for the updates like it does in 2023 Lacerte. I have subscribed to the notifications on when there is an update, and now I manually update  after receiving the emailed messages that there is an update.
