2021 FORM 1040-X: ATTACHMENT

For e-filing purposes, will an attachment to the form 1040-X work in Lacerte? Part III Explanation of Changes I say "see attached". I am wondering if the attachment will go with the e-filing for the amended return.

Any insight would be awesome!

If the software allows an attachment for the 1040X, I would assume it will be transmitted. But whether anybody at the IRS reads it is another story.

I do not believe the input has a limitation on characters. It ends up being an attachment. Why would you not just copy and paste your "attachment" into the input area?

Enter an explanation for the changes to income, deductions, and/or credits. When the program prints Form 1040X, the explanation prints exactly as you type the text (i.e., all spacing and line breaks as you entered them). The explanation prints in Part II of Form 1040X.

My explanation I am including a table and when I paste it, it doesn't work. Just a formatting issue.
