1099-Misc Royalties with Tax Withheld and Expenses

Hello,

I have a client with several 1099-Misc, reporting royalties, fed tax withheld and in some cases expenses.  The expense is netted from the income.  In using screen 14.1, the #'s aren't showing up on the tax return.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Juli

Screen 14.1 is only intended for reporting state income tax withheld, for those states that require the 1099 detail to be input. There's a giant blue note at the top of that section to that effect.

Put your royalty income into the appropriate input screen.

But where do you input the federal income tax withheld on royalties from box 4?

The income has to go to the appropriate schedule (in this case Sch E) but the withholding can go in Screen 14
