Lacerte Benefit - Form 8955-SSA FIRE System Scheduled Maintenance
The IRS will be shutting down the FIRE system which impacts Form 8955-SSA transmissions, for annual MeF maintenance.
The IRS shutdown period will begin November 27, 2023, at 3PM Eastern and will re-open January 8, 2024.
Lacerte will block transmissions 4 hours prior to this shutdown to allow any e-filed forms to complete the transmission process. Lacerte will begin blocking November 27, 2023, at 11AM Eastern.
