IRS Lockbox Address Changes: Important Update

The IRS has updated its mailing addresses for 2025 estimated payment vouchers and 2024 Form 1040-V payments.

Key Change:
  • The Lockbox Site in Cincinnati, OH (run by US Bank) ceased operations on Friday, July 18, 2025.
  • All payments previously sent to Cincinnati were redirected to JP Morgan Chase sites in Louisville, KY, and Charlotte, NC.

Q1. Will the IRS continue to accept and process 2025 estimated payments mailed to addresses found in the February 2025 version of Form 1040-ES instructions? Yes, the IRS will. Mail forwarding is in place for anything mailed to the Cincinnati, OH P.O. Boxes.
Q2. Likewise, will the IRS continue to accept Form 1040-V payments through 2025 that are mailed to the address in the October 2024 version of Form 1040-V? Yes, the IRS will. Mail forwarding is in place for anything mailed to the Cincinnati, OH P.O. Boxes.
