Updates Notification Emails
It would be helpful to receive email notifications when Updates are coming out. We're in a hosted environment, so the IT staff updating doesn't use the program. We find out that an update is available when one of our staff tries to login, then can't due to pending updates. We're left to notify our hosting service that an update is needed and the update is not available until the next business day. So we end up with an entire day of Lacerte downtime firm-wide. It seems easy enough to send an email blast to users that an update will be available soon so we can schedule accordingly.
A popup or other notification in the program is not helpful much of the year. Only during tax season are we in the software daily. At other times of the year, we might only have one staff member log in during a given week (if at all), certainly we're not in there daily.
