It's annoying to use Lacerte, having to learn their system.

In the year 2525.............................

I just took CCH's survey and gave high marks for Lacerte.

But when you have been using and paying for ProSeries since 1865, high marks for Lacerte don't do ProSeries users much good.  The form has been asked for, no, begged for since about 1866 and the year 2525 is still probably optimistic for a release date.

"It's annoying to use Lacerte, " Greta appeared to me to be a Lacerte user. I read her post as a comment about Lacerte in general, not a comment about F5227 so <whoosh> on me.

I see that LC has 5227. So, Greta, if I may inquire, why haven't you switched to LC?

I'm not Greta, but I will answer for some of the rest of us ProSeries users.

Learning curve (you can teach an old dog new tricks, but old dogs don't care to learn new tax software)

Cost

Why pay more just to have access to one form?

If we are going to leave one Intuit software, we definitely aren't going to head to another Intuit product.

ProSeries has its quirks and problems but I have been here long enough to know that so does Lacerte.

I've been with Proseries for nearly 4 decades, and it efficiently handles hundreds of clients except for the one CRAT for which I have to learn Lacerte each year. I call their helpful staff about 4 times each year to do this one client. It takes me all day for one return. IronMan is right, hard for old folks to learn new tricks, but I don't care for the Lacerte system from this annual experience. I wish PS supported Form 5227 (and got rid of the pop-up boxes).
