This question refers to the CCA city income tax form in the State of Ohio.

The question pertains to the taxable income (line one) of CCA form 120.

Line one list the employer's name, city tax withheld, city of employment, and income.  The question is for the city of employment column when the taxpayer works in multiple cities for one employer.  I have some W-2's that include more than 30 cities.

For 2023 and older returns, when the taxable income on line 1 was entered, the intuit program allowed entering any city in Ohio that has an income tax via the drop-down menu on the city column.  There are well over 300 such cities in Ohio. The intuit software changed in 2023 and 2024.  It is now much more difficult and time consuming to prepare the CCA return.

For 2024 tax year, when you click on the employment city column you can only select about 50 cities in Ohio.  For any other city there is only one option (other city).  That option does not work if you need it more than one time for the return. The tax rates, tax credit, and credit limit is different for each city which creates a nightmare when you get to section A line 9.

My question is why was the intuit program changed and WHY can it not be changed back so that it works like the 2023 and older years.

CCA sets how the form is laid out and CCA is very lacking.. most cities use RITA. but I agree, the CCA form is not really able to handle multiple cities easily.

The CCA form has not changed since around 2016 and the Intuit program was fine intil 2022.  What changed between 2022 and the last 2 years?  I talked to the IT manager at CCA and he said that there is no direct communication with Intuit. He said that CCA has an online portal for filing returns and it works fine.  All cities can be entered on their portal.  This is an Intuit programming issue.
