Set up dependent tax return

I requested this years ago when Lacerte would ask you for your ideas for improvement at the end of each filing season. I agree there should be a "click here: type of mechanism to create the dependent return.

Lacerte should have a way to open a new client which has previously been a dependent. Why should the user have to input all the relevant data, including (usually) the address, but also the birthday? In any dependent’s screen, this should be a way to create a new client. This would also be useful after a divorce, in which you have the secondary taxpayer in front of you, freshly single. This new client should be created with a click of the mouse.

Changing status to "Open for voting". 

They keep raising their fees but don't do simple things like this...

Depending on how comfortable you are with external programs, using an ODBC connection will hook you right up.

Great idea on dependent return, like split return for MFS or S Corp to C Corp....
