Pretty frustrated right now with how this tax software handles access to past returns.

I’m not renewing my subscription, and because of that they’re saying they cannot provide or discount access to my 2024 filed returns. These are returns I already paid to have prepared and filed. The only reason I can’t access them is because I won’t renew for another year of service I don’t need. That feels less like “subscription management” and more like holding my own records behind a paywall.

I fully understand losing access to the platform and its features. That part is fair. But my filed tax returns are my business records. Blocking access to them unless I renew is wild.

Support basically told me:

  • No renewal = no access
  • No discount
  • No copies of my 2024 returns

Debating whether or not to call Amex and have them charge this back - I paid for a filing service, not a hostage situation.

If this is how they treat customers who choose not to renew, it's a massive red flag. Incredible that there is no way to retrieve already-filed returns without being forced into another subscription cyle.
