PRINT FOREIGN EMPLOYER COUNTRY NAME ON NY FORM IT-2

When foreign employer information is entered for foreign wages in the form 2555 input, country name doesn't print on NY Form IT-2.

The XML file for e-file includes the employer country code, but country name doesn't print on form IT-2.

This especially becomes an issue when the return needs to be paper filed.

The only way to get the country name there as suggested by Lacerte support is to manually print it on the form outside of the program.

Thanks for the enhancement for country name to print on NY Form IT-2. We are changing the status to "Open for voting" since it has been around for over 30 days and no longer considered "New".

Continue to vote and comment on enhancements by going to the Idea Exchange Home page and select "Status": Open for voting, "Sort by": Most Popular. >> Lacerte Idea Exchange

my question - Form 1116 requires taxpayers to input foreign income and tax by country code. I see some of the larger firms inputting all of the income and foreign tax under RIC-  one entry rather than the 210 entries we are entering.  Does anyone have citable authority that this short cut is allowed by IRS or that eventually those that use it will get a letter from the IRS.
