Please populate local tax rate
In certain situations we need to use sales tax in itemized deduction. The amount computed by proconnect is lower than the IRS calculator on web because local tax is missing. Please populate local tax rate in Sch A input.
It is true that a taxpayer may not live in the address on the form and all other exceptions, but remember this is only a default, and the preparer is responsible for the accuracy.
Effectively the default is no local tax and the preparer has to fix. Assuming the taxpayer lives in the address on file is a better default and 99% true.
