PAY ESTIMATED TAXES AS A SEPARATE EFILE FROM EXTENSION AND RETURN EFILING

It would be very helpful if we could file estimated tax payments for 1040s separately and apart from doing an extension or filing the return.  With High Net worth individuals, we often have a better idea of what the tax estimate will be far after the extension is filed but well before we have all the minor information needed to complete the return.

I found out after I filed the extension that I could only E- file the estimated taxes with the

E-Filed return filing.  Also it would be great if you removed the mailing notice with the IRS address at the bottom of the 1040ES forms when we have elected to E-File the estimated tax payments.

For the record, I’m not afraid of being kimmeled, I’m just tired of it 😬

YOU REALLY NEED TO FIX THIS BECAUSE ESTIMATED TAX PAYMENTS ARE DUE REGARDLESS OF WHEN THE EXTENDED TAX RETURN IS FILED.

ONLY ALLOWING ESTIMATED TAXES BEING PAID AS PART OF THE FILING OF THE RETURN MEANS A 2025 TAX RETURN ON EXTENSION FILED ON OCTOBER 14, 2026 WOULD MISS 3 ESTIMATED TAX PAYMENTS AS REQUIRED BY IRS AND SUBJECT OUR CLIENTS TO PENALTIES AND INTEREST. THAT MAKES NO SENSE!!!!

TELLING US TO PRINT THE COUPONS AND MAIL THE PAYMENTS IS AN UNACCEPTABLE WORK AROUND....

I include the Q1 estimate in the extension payment.

But yes it would be nice if Intuit at least told us if this is an IRS thing or an Intuit thing.

The more I know the more I don’t know.
