NYS K-1 PTET PAYMENT ENTRY
The current method of entering PTET payments for NY is very confusing. There is a screen that requests state withholding information. Entering the amount there prevents the PTET addback. Why is there a data entry area there if the return does not come out correct?
The only way I got it to work is to enter the income adjustment for the PTET payment in the NYS income and adjustment section. The income adjustment came through as well as the credit on form IT 653.
This is a very confusing way of doing this. There should be a box on the screen that says PTET payment. The PTET payment should be entered and the adjustment to income should flow through to the IT 225. The credit should flow through to the IT 653. Please fix this.
