Net Form 4797 Detail amounts going to Schedule F as Research Expenses
I have a Farm Client who sold a few pieces of equipment in 2025. I entered the sales into the Dispositions Screen, and the net of those sales (from the input screen, not the Forms screen), are going to the Schedule F, Other Expenses line, as "Research Expenses" for some reason. This amount shows up, but it is NOT included in the Total Schedule F Expenses. I have found this can be removed by removing the "Corresponding Entity" Information in the Dispositions Screen, however then these sales will NOT be included in the QBID! I have tried talking to Lacerte Support but haven't gotten anywhere after 2 calls and almost 3 hours. Has anyone run into this and have a work around for it?
