Does ProSeries have a capability to efile 2 LLCs for the same taxpayer, ie. CA LLCs?  If not, is it something that can be added by the software engineers as a feature for future tax years?

    Note:

    • ProSeries only supports the creation of one LLC per return, per unique Employer Identification Number (EIN).
    • Taxpayers with multiple LLCs with the same EIN will be able to efile only the first LLC, all remaining LLCs must be printed and filed by mail.
    • If a multi-state (like Pennsylvania and Tennessee) return is needed, the other state LLC will need to be created in a different return, with a unique EIN entered for the LLC.
    • The same scenario applies if the Taxpayer and Spouse each have an LLC in the same state.

Click here for Steps to E-File File Multiple LLCs with Unique EINs:

    1. After following the steps above to efile the first LLC for this taxpayer, open the Federal Information Worksheet and scroll down to Part VI.
    2. Uncheck the box to File the Federal return electronically and change the LLC to be efiled in the Select state(s) to file electronically table.
    3. Click the File menu and choose Save As to create a copy of the return.
    4. Open the Schedule C for the first LLC and uncheck the LLC box from the pic in Step 2, above.
    5. Open the Schedule C for the second LLC on the return and check the LLC box.
    6. Prepare the state Limited Liability Company tax return for the second LLC.  Then, save the return.
    7. Go to the EF Center HomeBase.  On the EF Center HomeBase View, you will find a separate row for the individual income tax client's state limited liability company return. For example, the Return Type will be displayed as PA LLC or TN LLC.
    8. When you are ready to electronically file the client's state LLC return, you may highlight only the row identified with the "Return Type" CA LLC, PA LLC, TN LLC, or TX LLC, then convert and transmit the state LLC return as you would any other electronic return.
    9. After filing the return electronically, the CA, PA, TN, or TX limited liability company returns will be acknowledged upon processing and you will receive an Acceptance or a Rejection identifying the status of your return.
    10. Repeat steps 1 through 9 for any additional LLCs the taxpayer needs to file.
